Over the past 35 years, Andrew Smith & Son have developed into one of the South's principal Independent Professional Fine Art Auctioneers. Our origins as a professional family run firm of auctioneers dates back to 1793 with the original George Smith & Son, located in Winchester High Street.

We hold two different types of auction - Fine Art, Antique & Decorative Interiors, offering Asian Art, silver and plate, jewellery and watches, ceramics and glass, pictures, furniture, clocks, rugs and carpets, and a wide range of collectables. We also hold regular Saturday Homes & Antiques Auctions.

We have a team of highly skilled specialist valuers with considerable experience in the antiques/auction trade to value and catalogue jewellery and silver, books, watches and Asian art, etc. We have discovered many valuable items over the years with record prices being achieved in many cases.

Hector

Hector

Office Dog

Hector is the office veteran and mostly spends his time asleep. The dog that the others look up to, he is punctual and understands his routine, and knows which clients bring biscuits for him. His favourite past times are sleeping on the back of the sofa, and watching the world go by. His world is governed by treats.

Monty

Monty

Office Dog

Monty is a free-roaming dog and is often to be found asleep on a chair in the saleroom. He particularly enjoys sale days where he can be found close-by anyone with food. He is slowing down a little now, and ageing in a most distinguished manner.

Moomin

Moomin

Office Dog

Moomin is the office darling and enjoys a cuddle in the afternoons. She is as quick as a snake in the grass and escapes through the office door on a regular basis. She is a proficient treat-catcher.

Ted

Ted

Office Dog

The youngest of the canine team, Ted is quickly learning the office ropes. He has a tendency to bark at clients but it is not out of malice, he is simply defending his office. He particularly enjoys sleeping under his desk and chasing Moomin.

Stella

Stella

Saleroom Dog

Stella is the most travelled dog in the office, and emigrated from Greece to England over a year ago. While it took a while for her to settle in her new home, she has come on in leaps and bounds. Stella excels at jumping and feels happiest in Saleroom 2 away from the other dogs.
